  • The pecan tree heralds a time of wealth and financial security.

    The name “pecan” is a Native American word of Algonquin origin that was used to describe “all nuts requiring a stone to crack.” Native Americans were the first to experience the wealth of a pecan tree. They gathered pecans primarily as sustenance, but they also used pecans to make dye and oil. Pecans eventually became a delicious currency that could be traded for goods and services with other tribes.

  • Spalting is any kind of wood coloration that is caused when fungi colonize the wood and extract nutrients from it, leaving behind dark dotted and lined patterns.
